We Remember Submariners (WRS), produce an annual pin to remember the submariners who have sadly died during the previous year that the pin represents. It has mainly been the sale of these pins, together with other merchandise in the online shop, that provides WRS with the funds to supply 'Moly' pins to the family of any submariner, either serving or retired, who have crossed the bar, along with a wreath or a donation to a charity of the family’s choice, should they wish.
In addition to the above, those who are WRS members or are serving when they Cross the Bar, will be represented as a Gold Poppy on the following years pin.
WRS also makes donations to other submarine related causes and these are judged on a case by case basis.
The pin year runs from the 1st January to the 31st December and the pin year is the year that the pin is produced, e.g. During the year we will run the next year’s pin list so the pin can be ordered and be made available for despatch to WRS members in the first instance and additionally for general sale in July of the year. This ensures that they are available in time to coincide with the Submariners Memorial on the Embankment over the weekend before the November remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
2026 celebrates the Royal Navy Submarine Service's 125th anniversary and to mark this special event the pins will become generally available from the 17th May 2026 in line with the Service and Gathering at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
Members who have paid their WRS subscriptions for that year will receive their pins as soon as we have taken delivery of the order however as 2020 has demonstrated situations may delay this but we will strive to ensure pins are despatched before July for members having joined / renewed before this and as soon as possible for those renewing / joining after this time. All members details should be checked regularly to ensure that the address we will send the pins to will be as per your contact details.

Additional pins may be purchased from the 17th May 2026 through the WRS shop on line ( Pin Sales - We Remember Submariners )and will be sent separately by the shop manager following on line payment. .
Where possible, pins may be sold locally at outstations in Portsmouth, Plymouth, Faslane, Bristol, Barrow-in-Furness & various other regional outstations, from May 17th also. The pins are becoming highly sought-after collectors’ items therefore the only way to guarantee receiving your pins before November ceremonies, is to become a member and renew when prompted.
